FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, World Champions Kerrie Meares and Shane Perkins, along with Olympian Emily Rosemond will exclusively train and coach 15 people at the new Anna Meares Velodrome.
This is an exclusive opportunity for cycling enthusiasts OF ALL LEVELS to be trained and coached and learn from the world's best. They'll work with you each week for 2 hours, coach you, share their tips, skills and training advice - all in the world's best and newest Velodrome.
Kerrie Meares is a 2 x Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, a World Champion and multiple National Champion. Having competed on the International stage for a number of years, Kerrie brings a wealth of experience to her coaching role within the Track Cycling Academy. She is one of the Track Cycling Academy Directors, and plays a big part in the technical and tactical elements of coaching track cyclists. In addition to her coaching qualifications, Kerrie also has a number of Strength & Conditioning certifications and works with a number of our experts in developing programs for Track Cycling Academy members.
Shane Perkins is a World, Commonwealth and Olympic Medallist who currently spends much of his time in Japan racing the International Keirin Series with the world’s best male cyclists. Shane’s currently training for major International events which include the 2018 Commonwealth Games which will be held in the brand new Anna Meares Velodrome. He is one of Australia’s most successful male track cyclists and serves as a role model for up and coming cyclists across the Nation.
Emily Rosemond is an Olympic Speed Skater who transitioned to Track Cycling after a decade long career on ice skates. Following retirement from speed skating, Emily made a fast transition to Track Cycling winning a National title just 12 weeks after commencing the sport. She has won multiple track cycling medals on the World Cup circuit, along with a number of National Titles and Oceanic Championships. In addition to her coaching roles, Emily has worked to develop a number of programs to benefit performance pathways for athletes progressing through the sport.
Through combined knowledge, experience and coaching qualifications, Kerrie, Shane and Emily will be delivering an action packed 4 week training course which will help you become a stronger, faster and smarter track cyclist in the world’s best indoor facility. Numbers have been restricted to 15 to ensure you can receive individual and personalised assistance over the 4-week course and can expect to learn:
It doesn't matter what level you're at - this is for beginners to advanced track cyclists.
The dates will be confirmed on 30th November.
But we will be starting the coaching sessions the week of 30th January, once a week for 2 hours in the evening, and they will run over 4 consecutive weeks.
If you don't have a track bike or helmet, no worries! We will supply this for you.
